Play In A Day

This Play in a Day is for up to 35 KS2 or 3 pupils. The pupils will work with a facilitator throughout the day and have the opportunity to share a short performance to an audience of their choice at the end of the day.

Albie keeps a diary. Nothing special about that, you might think, until one morning the Headmaster announces the whole school is to be evacuated to the countryside.

It's the adventure of a lifetime for Albie and his pals as they scramble aboard a train into the unknown. Told with passion and warmth the story boasts an impressive cast of characters ranging from the Houses of Parliament, ARP Wardens and Land Girls to an American airman and Winston Churchill himself. This is the Second World War through the eyes of Albie Reid, aged thirteen and three-quarters.

Albie's War is an easily accessible project for pupils, inspiring them to think about the Second World War from a child's perspective. A fantastic way to compliment further topic research or creative writing work in the classroom.
