Christmas is always a busy time of year, especially in the classroom. With the Nativity being rehearsed, Christmas shopping on your mind, and a buzzing class eagerly awaiting Santa's arrival, it can be difficult to come up with fresh, fun ideas for Christmas activities. In this blog we’re going to take a look at some exciting activities and ideas which you can bring to your classroom this year!
1- Class Advent Calendar.
An absolute classic. Place each person’s name into a calendar and let the Christmas count down commence! The prizes could be sweets, extra break, stationary and everything in between. Easy, fun and inexpensive- what more could you want?
2- Class Charity Collection.
What a way to both spread the festive cheer and show children to partake in a good deed this Christmas. Start a food or toy collection for your local food banks and charities.
3- Write a letter to Santa.
Here's another classic: have your class write a letter to Santa! Ask them to mention what they'd like for Christmas, how their year has gone, and what they’ll be doing for the holidays. To add an extra touch of magic, leave a trail of glitter behind when Santa’s elves come to collect the letters!
4- Sing some songs.
An easy and fun way to pass the time is by having a Christmas song and dance session. Everyone loves getting into the festive spirit with a bit of music and movement. You can create a lively atmosphere by playing some classic holiday tunes and encouraging the class to join in with their own dance moves. To make it even more exciting, why not set up a DIY karaoke session using YouTube? It’s a great way to get everyone involved.
5- Homemade Decorations.
Put everyone's creative skills to the test by inviting your class to make their own christmas decorations for the classroom. Whether it’s creating colourful paper snowflakes, designing festive wreaths, or crafting handmade ornaments, this activity allows each student to contribute their unique touch to the classroom atmosphere.
