Engineers Week 2023
Engineers is something that is a part of everyday life, but a lot of people seem to be unaware of this! That's why the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) started Engineers Week.
Engineers Week celebrates the positive contributions that engineers have made to the quality of life. It's also an opportunity to increase diversity within the workplace, reinforce good education, and increase interest and understanding of the trade.
You might want to get in to the details of what jobs engineers do, but if your looking to inject some creativity there are lots of fun activties you can do in your classroom!
What can you build?
Challenge the children to build something out of some recycled material and some craft equiptment. You could decide what they have to build, for example a jetpack or a rocket. Or you could let the decide.
Let's solve a problem?
Engineers design and create things to solve problems that we have in society. In teams, task the children to design something new that will solve a problem. Again you could assign this problem, for example plastic polution. Or you could let them decide in tehri group the problem they would like to solve.
