Random Acts Of Kindness Day!

In an often scary world where we’re forever switching on the TV to a new devastating disaster or nasty news line, it’s good to take a step back and make sure your little pocket of the world is happy- Have you checked in on your friends? Helped your parents around the house? Or maybe rescued an animal in danger? Today is world kindness day and we’re going to try spreading some awareness of being mindful and kind to others, and look at some ideas what you could do to spread the love today!

A Problem Shared Is A Problem Halved!

Check in on your friends and family. Ask how they’re really doing. A lot of the time people keep their emotions to themselves (especially negative ones) in the fear they’ll become a burden or annoy someone however; talking about a problem can really help someone’s mental health and give them a safe space to talk. Sometimes people just need a rant! Or express their happiness for something… Being that shoulder to lean on can be a massive help for people.

Donate To Charity.

You can keep it simple and research a charity you like and send them some money, or maybe you want to put a creative spin on it? There’s several ways you can raise money for charity: Bake some tasty goods for your class, donate your unwanted clothes and toys to your local charity shop, you could even do a sky dive or run a marathon!

Volunteer.

Get online and see whose hiring volunteers! Anything from charity shops to food banks, to helping the elderly and caring for rescue animals, there’s an abundance of ways you can put your time and skills into helping the local community and those in need.

Pay someone a compliment.

Being kind can be that easy. Have you ever walk passed someone and thought ‘they look nice’? Or maybe your friend is really good at playing the guitar? Did your Dad’s Spag Bol hit the spot even better than usual? Tell them! A little compliment can really boost a person’s mood and set them up for the day and even help people grow confidence in the things they love. Who knows? Maybe you complimenting your friend’s guitar skills can give them the confidence to make it into a rock star!
