Recycle Week 2024

Did you know ‘Recycle Week’ is now running for its 21st year! This year, Recycle Week will run from 14th to 20th October and the theme is 'Rescue Me.'

The campaign is focusing on rescuing recyclable items from heading to the rubbish bin.

While that is an amazing achievement that there is so much awareness now, we still have a long way to go to protect our planet for us and for future generations.

There are things we can all do in our day to day living that can promote a better environment and contribute to preventing global warming and pollution – Recycling is one of them, and it’s super easy too!

We know that home recycling can vary depending on where you live so please do check what can and can’t be put into your recycling bin at home, but know that you’re making a huge difference by separating your waste!

There are some general recycling rules that apply most places, here are a few examples:

The best way to check whether something can be recycled is to look out for symbols like these on the packaging:

Konflux are also trying to spread awareness about Recycling in schools up and down the country via our workshops.
We have also collaborated with Councils and Organisations such as Veolia to go into schools and teach young people about the environment through theatre in education and we aim to keep trying to educate and make a difference where possible.

So keep recycling! It may only take a few seconds and it’s making a huge difference. There are some great tips on how to get involved on the Recyclenow website - https://www.recyclenow.com/news-and-campaigns/recycle-week
