This Play in a Day is for up to 35 KS2 or 3 pupils. The pupils will work with a facilitator throughout the day and have the opportunity to share a short performance to an audience of their choice at the end of the day.
The dinosaurs have all gone. The weather outside is picking up nicely, Mr Ugg is just itching to try out his latest cutting-edge flint tools and Mrs Ugg just wants everyone out of the cave so she can redecorate. There’s a new age dawning (one of several in fact) and nobody wants to be left behind now, do they? Just ask the Neanderthals…
Take a trip to a time before, well, recorded time! This Play in a Day workshop covers 8,000 years or pre-historic British culture, including the Stone, Bronze and Iron ages. An ideal way to highlight these new curriculum topics in your school.
What exactly is a henge? Or a barrow? Or why, for that matter, is all the good stuff being thrown in the lake? What will the neighbours say? Fun, dynamic and packed with information here’s a trip to ancient times and back again via fire, art, weapons, tools, Skara Brae, Lindow Man, the odd hill fort and even global trade - and all before the school bell sounds!
From careless cave dwellers with a knack of mislaying their tools and leaving muddy footprints everywhere to the advent of single burials, barrows, farming, and the mass production of fearsome weapons... discover why things that happened Ages Ago are still so relevant today.
"Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the day and the children learnt loads about the Stone Age. They enjoyed the play and on the whole we were pleased with how the leader managed to keep their attention throughout the day" (School in Nottingham)
