The Autumn term is in full swing and we cannot believe how quickly it is going!
November generally is a jam-packed month for everyone but especially for schools. We’ve compiled some of the key events taking place this month and some ideas of how you can get involved.
Guy Fawkes Night (Bonfire Night) (5th November)
Remember, remember the 5th November. A poignant date in our history calendars as The Gunpowder Plot was an attempt by Guy Fawkes and others to blow up Parliament in 1605.
Children today still learn about this monumental act of treason within schools and in more recent years outside of school, the date is marked with bonfires and firework displays across the nation.
Remembrance Day (11th November)
After the war, people remembered the soldiers who died every year on 11th November. This is called Remembrance Day.
Services are usually held every second Sunday in November and a two minutes silence at 11am on the 11th to recognise and remember those we lost in World Wars.
Our red poppy is a symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. Poppies are worn as a show of support for the Armed Forces community.
World Kindness Day (13th November)
It’s always important to be kind, but this day gives every chance to do something extra special, perhaps to a loved one, a stranger, a charity contribution – let’s spread kindness across the world.
Anti-Bullying Week (10th – 14th November)
ABA are official organisers of Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Anti-Bullying Week 2025 will take place from Monday 10th - Friday 14th November, with the theme: Power for Good. The week will kick off with Odd Socks Day on Monday 10th, with adults and children being encouraged to wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.
Every year, bullying impacts the lives of countless young people and silence helps it grow. That’s why, this Anti-Bullying Week, we’re empowering young people to use their Power for Good to safely speak up and raise awareness when they see bullying, face to face or online.

Children in Need (14th November)
BBC Children in Need began with a 1927 radio appeal and the first telethon in 1980 which many of us may have viewed for 45 years!
A very important cause as we all know, and over the years it has helped benefit so many vulnerable children in need. We love to see schools getting involved; bake sales, non-uniform day, special challenges and even fancy dress!
Maths Week (15th – 23rd November)
This year's theme is 'Connection or Coincidence?'
Head to https://mathsweekengland.co.uk/ for free resources available for you and your pupils.
The main aim of Maths Week is to make maths accessible to all students, of all backgrounds. Maths Week sets out to raise the profile of the subject whilst, at the same time, encouraging children to pursue maths by promoting a more positive and inclusive approach.
Road Safety Week (17th – 23rd November)
Road Safety Week has been an ever-growing key theme here at Konflux. With so many dangers on the road, and now the addition of accessible technology it is more important than ever to keep children (and adults) safe! There is no end to highlighting the dangers of being by the road and what we can do prevent any accidents from happening. This November, remember to Stop, Look, Listen, Think!
