From 2nd – 8th February 2026 it is National Storytelling week and so we’re celebrating the magic of story! This theme week allows us to highlight the power of sharing stories which can ignite our minds whether it is from a book, our imaginations or from others.
We can learn so much from stories and they can teach us to empathise with others, share experiences and even transport us to an imaginary world!
Perfect for our mental health, stories can help us to escape everyday stresses and relax all while developing literacy skills through reading, writing and speaking.
Here at Konflux we love to tell stories, fiction and non-fiction through drama. We all remember learning about stories from history in school but many of us also find pleasure in creating our own. This can be through creative writing, discussions with friends or improvisation in practical lessons.
The theme for National Storytelling Week 2026 is 'Soundtrack your story'. Everyone has their own musical story - whether it’s in the songs we love and the music we dance to, through British Sign Language and the rhythms we feel, the soundscapes of everyday life, or the soundtracks we hear in films and games. Music connects us to words. It helps us express who we are and how we see the world.
